Artificial Intelligence and Taxation in an International Comparative Perspective – Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs Participates in an International Conference

Dr Alexander Szívós, Assistant Lecturer at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pécs, is currently carrying out academic and research activities as a visiting lecturer and researcher at the University of Cagliari within the framework of the Pannonia Faculty Mobility Programme.

As part of the mobility programme, an international online conference presentation entitled “Artificial Intelligence in Tax Assessments – A Comparison Between Italy and Hungary” took place on 26 May 2026. The event was supported and livestreamed by both the University of Cagliari and the University of Pisa.

During the presentation, Andrea Poddighe introduced the experiences of Italian tax authorities and OECD analyses. At the same time, Dr Alexander Szívós presented on the legal framework, opportunities, and challenges related to the application of artificial intelligence by the Hungarian tax authority.

The professional cooperation extends beyond the conference presentation itself. During the spring semester, an agreement was successfully concluded between the University of Cagliari and the University of Pécs, which may provide Hungarian students with future opportunities for international mobility and professional experience abroad.

The parties also expressed their openness to further strengthening scientific cooperation through the organisation of joint conferences, research projects, and professional programmes.
